JIM SAVARINO: THE MAN IN THE STREET CD
#JS-001-2, POB 1349, Hawthorne CA, 90251

This self-produced CD features Jim Savarino's beautifully plaintive
singing, thoughtful songs, and elegantly simple arrangements. His
lyrics and melodies have a timeless quality, with strong, poetic song
forms and roots in folk, bluegrass, and country. Many of his songs are
about holding to one's spirit and truth in a world that often seems to
disdain the spiritual, including "Searching for Angels," "Radio," and
"The Man in the Street," an allegorical encounter with Jesus as a
homeless man. Other highlights are the beautiful "Lifedance," the
enigmatic "Little Pills...," and the charming fable, "The Sun and the
Wind." An enjoyable album. (Richard Middleton)
