ACOUSTIC CONCERT at 3:00 P.M. this Sunday, May 31, 1998, featuring
Signature Sounds recording artist MARIA SANGIOLO with special guest
GEOFF KAUFMAN.
Maria is an audience favorite at Grassy Hill, and we're delighted to have
her back. She will be bringing copies of her new CD, BLUE EARTH, and
singing some wonderful new songs. If you haven't heard her, she's an
affecting girl-next-door performer with a great voice and a gift for songs
that mix stories and feelings from real life in a way that makes them
unforgettable.
Geoff is a veteran shantyman (director of music at Mystic Seaport and world
traveler with the sea music quartet Forebitter) and a real full-strength folk
singer - if you're not singing along by the second or third song, you must be
across the street! His own contemporary songs are topical, humorous and moving.
Music starts promptly at 3PM - but come at 2:30 for a coffee and dessert
reception. The suggested donation is $12 per person - it all goes to the
performers. Lyme is in Southeast Connecticut near Old Saybrook and New
London, about 2h from NY/Boston, 45m from Hartford. Grassy Hill is a
nonsmoking venue.
