i posted this to the nanci-net yesterday, but thought i'd share it with the
folk music digest as well...

maybe you're all already aware of this, or it's old news, but my friend roy
rede is an independent music producer and one of the things he is working on
right now is a nanci remix project.

i was over at roy's studio last night and he played some of the cuts for me
including a baroque version of 'gulf coast higway' complete with a harpsichord,
32 piece string orchestra and 60 voice choir singing the back-up vocals in
latin.

he also played a disco/pop-dance remix of 'late night grande hotel' for me that
was done by a japanese dj named gomi.

roy might also be doing a dance mix of 'st. teresa of avila' for this project.

seriously--i'm not making this up!

apparently these tracks are going to be part of a nanci remix EP coming out
this summer on a label called i/o records...maybe in june.

just wanted to let you all know...
