>I've just returned from that concert, with a stack of new discs, very happy
>to have gone. If you've never heard Cosy Sheridan, my best description at
>this exhausted hour is: sort of a younger and bawdier Christine Lavin--but
>that may not do justice to either of them. A few serious songs, very
>pretty (reminded me a little of Mary McCaslin) and a batch of funny ones
>that had me laughing as hard as I ever have at a concert--as well as a
>delightful personality and presentation. Definitely a treat.

I'll continue to echo all this. Cosy grew up around here and used to
play all the time in these parts before moving out to Utah. Sure do
miss her presence. Luckily, her folks still live here in town
(Concord), so she comes back frequently and usually does a few shows.
The show that was written about above was on Sunday- she postponed a
trip out to my radio program due to it. With any luck, she'll be
returning to do it this Sunday, so if anyone is in west/central NH, tune
it in between 4:30 and 7:00 sometime.
I was looking at the comparisons above, and one that has always stood
out in my mind is some Cheryl Wheeler similarity. Actually a lot of it.
She has that ability to sing like an angel one second, and talk like a
sailor the next. Ain't it great? Check out a Cosy show if you haven't.
She's wise beyond her years (would you believe she's only 32?) I'll
shush now...
