After 4 successful years of hosting the popular Urban Campfires House
Concert series in their San Antonio home,
Glen and LaJeanna Pilant decided to sell their house and move North to the
beautiful Texas Hill Country. Now that
they have completed their move to the Bulverde area they are ready to start
a new House Concert series serving San
Antonio and the surrounding Hill Country.

If you've never attended a House Concert then you are in for a treat. Hill
Country House Concerts are a means of
presenting live music in an intimate atmosphere free from the smoke, noise
and late nights often associated with
listening to live music in a bar. The performers are all top notch,
nationally known touring singer-songwriters.
You've probably heard many of them and if not you've probably heard their
songs. Past House Concert artists such
as Ray Wylie Hubbard, Darden Smith and Shake Russell are well known names
while folks like Jon Ims, Steve
Seskin and Fred Koller have written many of the biggest hits on commercial
radio. The performers love Hill
Country House Concerts because the audience is there to listen to the music
and not to meet, greet and chat during
the show. House Concerts have grown nationally to comprise a large portion
of a singer-songwriters tour.

The Pilants don't make any money from the shows since all of the $8 per head
donation goes to the performer.
Instead they do it for the love of the music and to support the performers.
Regular attendees receive a monthly
newsletter announcing the schedule either via e-mail or regular mail. The
e-mail newsletter is free and you can sign
up by sending a note to gpilant@natca.net. The regular mail newsletter is
$10 a year, which is used to cover the
expenses of printing and mailing.

The monthly shows are warm and intimate, usually unamplified, and allow for
interaction between the crowd and
the performer. Concerts start at 7:30 p.m. with two sets of music and a pot
luck dinner break in between. Coffee, tea,
plates, napkins, etc are provided. Attendees are encouraged to bring a dish
for the potluck and are welcome to bring
their own beverages if they prefer something stronger. The evening usually
wraps up with an informal picking circle
featuring anyone that brings along a guitar and wants to share songs. The
concert capacity is around 75 people with
plenty of parking space.

Do yourself a favor and attend a Hill Country House Concert. More
information is available by calling 830-980-
8479. This is a metro number from San Antonio.
