Hope this is the correct way to respond...I just pushed "reply."

RE: Angels -- A much under-played songwriter from California, David Beaudry,
has an incredible story song called "Lonely Gospel Angel" on his ALIEN MAN CD
out on Terra Nova records. It's about a guy in jail who encounters a
figurative angel who is waiting form him when he gets out of the joint. Her
faith in him helps him turn his life around. Sound corny and predictable? Not
in this guy's hands. He is a skillful poet and what an engaging singer/player.
His album features some fancy guitar work by his friend, Darrell Scott (Aloha,
from Nashville), too.

Meanwhile, has anyone ever heard "Water is Wide" as done by Lucie Blue
Tremblay? Best in my book and among the most requested versions from Folk
Radio 91.9FM (Boston) listeners. There's also a very beautiful, tradition-rich
version on ONE MORE SONG: An Album For Club Passim (Rounder) with Tom Paxton
singing accompanied an angel on the guitar, Geoff Bartley.
