Well, it has finally happened - the Seventh Sign!

This year, two of the acts on this year's line-up for
Kerrville Rejection Night have, ..deep breath.., actually
been accepted to the Kerrville New Folk Showcase!!!

Yes friends, after assuring me that they had sent to Texas
songs that would assure them a place in this year's WHY
benefit concert, Kacey Wiggins (of The Wiggins Sisters) and
Kevin Briody (of, um, Kevin Briody) apparantly then went ahead
and sent in some gems that have garnered them invites.

I feel especially betrayed by Kevin. You see, last year Kevin also
was a Kerrville semi-finalist, but assured me that this year he had
seen the error of his over-achieving ways.

But please, this Saturday, May 2nd, come anyway to the 6th annual
Kerrville Rejection Night in Hoboken, NJ. I assure you that there will
be the usual amount of great music, good-natured ribbing, and all the
proceeds will again be going to World Hunger Year. And I can't wait to
hear Kevin and Kacey's songs. This better be good

This year Kerrville Rejection Night will be held at the new home of the
Music Among Friends Coffeehouse, at The Shannon Lounge, in Hoboken, NJ.
The address is 106 First Street. Showtime is 9pm, after an open mic at 8pm
Call (201) 659-6300 for questions, directions, etc.

This year's line-up includes: Kevin Briody, Rich Deans, del Gattos,
Joe Giacoio, Sue Trainor, The Wiggins Sisters, Judith Zweiman,
Nina Mankin, Christina Muir and Ina May Wool.

And, of course, I'm just teasing! Congratulations Kevin and Kacey (and
all the other winners this year). You all really deserve it!
