John Alvord mentioned discovering Pete Nelson through a sampler. That album
"The Restless Boys Club," is a true gem. I suspect that many who would LOVE
Pete's music have never even heard of him. We highlighted this album and Pete
in Volume 2 of The Music Matters Review. We cover artists that most on this
list are likely to be familiar with, Greg Brown, Janis Ian, Vance Gilbert,
Catie Curtis etc., but we enjoy turning people on to some of the lesser known
(but incredible!) people like Darryl Purpose, Chris Knight, Leahy, Bob Martin,
Erin McKeown, Kate McDonnell, Laura Kemp, Sons Of The Never Wrong...the list
goes on!

As an editor, I am privileged to hear so much fine music, and I am continually
impressed with the high quality of music being produced in relative obscurity.
Chances are if you like a song on a sampler, you will probably like the
whole album.
