Rose Garden Coffeehouse Announces Songwriter Finalists

After an extremely difficult round of judging, the Rose Garden Coffeehouse
has named the three finalists in our 6th Annual Singer/Songwriter
Competition. Finalists are: David Sturtevant, Erie, PA; Daryl Purpose, Los
Angeles, CA; and Jenny Reynolds, Wellesley, MA.
These three will travel to Mansfield, MA to perform at the Live Finals on
May 16 where Bill Staines will be the featured artist. Our special guest
judges (Sonny Ochs, Falcon Ridge Folk Festival; Brian Quinn, Program
Director at all-folk WUMB-FM in Boston; and Ralph Jaccodine, artist
management for Ellis Paul and the Push Stars) will select a winner before
the evening ends.
An encouraging word... the quality of the entries this year was higher than
ever before. As we all know, there are immensely talented people out there
playing our favorite kind of music, and this is one small way we've come up
with to help a few of them reach a larger audience. Congratulations to the
finalists and thanks to everyone who took the time to enter!
