If ya knew about it and got caught up in tv, laundry, relatives or the flu.
Shame on you! Lisa McCormick's appearance in Sicklerville at the FOLKUS
Production house concert was the perfect end to a busy week. Jodi, Paula and
Gill scout out only the cream of the crop for their concerts. Lisa's
performance was right up there with all the wonderful shows I've been to this
year at Folkus.
Lisa strummed her guitar and we listened intently as she sang her songs of
life, relationships and of course, cars. I particularly enjoyed her new songs
not found on her CD. "Walting Right Out the Door" is a cynical way to break
ties with a lover. "Say Something Stupid" is funny, but if you really GET IT,
then it will bring a tear to your eye. And since I went through 12 years of
catholic school, "Purgatory Cafe" is just hilarious! I hope I got the titles
right, because as I said, they're not out on CD yet. But I am a wild fan of
all her songs from her first and only CD. "Gotta Go" rings true to life.
"Sex and Consequences" is witty and humorous. "Right Now" is a tribute to all
mankind!
Lisa McCormick is a talented storyteller, with a bluesy voice that holds an
audience attention. I'm looking forward to seeing her again soon at another
venue. Cheers to the Folkus crew for seeking her out! She's one heck of a
singer/songwriter. And if I didn't tell her that when I saw her on Sunday
night............. I forgot! Thanks, Linda Steffen
