Folk Next Door 7 takes place in the Millard Auditorium at the University of
Hartford, West Hartford, Friday May 1, beginning at 7:00 p.m. The annual
concert, sponsored by WWUH to raise funds for alternative radio programming,
will feature twelve folk/roots/acoustic acts. Performances will be recorded
for CD release later in the year.

This year's performers include Louise Taylor (Vermont), Peter Lehndorff
(Massachusetts), Justina and Joyce (Massachusetts), Darryl Purpose (Seattle),
Tom Prasado-Rao (Maryland), Steven Nystrup (Connecticut), Erin McKeown
(Providence), Mark Mulcahy (Connecticut), Beth Amsel (Massachusetts), Jeremy
Wallace (New Jersey), Chris and Meredith Thompson (Connecticut), Gideon
Freudmann (Massachusetts).

Tickets are $20 and available by calling the University of Hartford box office
at (860) 768-4228 or 1-800-274-8587. All proceeds benefit alternative radio
programming at WWUH-FM.

The Folk Next Door series began seven years ago as a method to introduce
little known and relatively-local folk music artists to an enthusiastic and
attentive audience. At the same time the station wanted to raise money for
operations and programming while expanding the profile of WWUH a notch or
two. The Folk Next Door has been successful on all accounts.

Among the artists who have performed at Folk Next Door concerts are Dar
Williams, Catie Curtis, Richard Shindell, Susan McKeown and Chanting House,
Jack Hardy, Lucy Kaplansky, Lisa McCormick, Hugh Blumenfeld, The Nields, Lui
Collins, Salamander Crossing, Cordelia's Dad, John Whelan, Donna Martin, Sloan
Wainwright, Ratsy, Eric von Schmidt, Barbara Kessler, The Patons and many
more.

Radio promo copies of the Folk Next Door CDs are available by emailing Ed
McKeon at emckeon@aol.com. For more information about the concert, or about
any of the artists performing, and for media passes contact Ed McKeon at
