FESTIVAL: NN: Newportalooza?

Apparently there is a Newport Folk Festival package tour this
summer. In a
list of summer concerts in the Detroit Free Press this morning I found this:
August 22 at Pine Knob Music Theater-Newport Folk Festival,
featuring Nanci
Griffith, John Hiatt, Joan Baez, Mark Cohn, the Staple Singers and others.
So, does anybody know an itinerary, are there more of these shows,
is the
lineup of artists the same at other dates, etc.? While this is certainly an
attractive bill, I'm not as thrilled as I could be about a Michigan Nanci
appearance this summer. Pine Knob is the typical huge outdoor "shed" venue-
hardly conducive to enjoying these artists. A much better place to have held
it locally would be Meadow Brook, also outdoors, but smaller with superior
sound, yet still large enough to accomodate the number of people I'd expect to
attend this event. Hate to say it, but they'll be lucky to sell half the
available tickets for Pine Knob. Also, does this "Newport Tour" (if indeed it
is a tour) mean that any hopes we've had of a Nanci/John Prine tour for this
summer are now squashed? Finally-and admittedly this is a personal problem-my
wife and I won't be able to attend this show on August 22 because we will be
in Lyons at the RMFF then. (Ok, so we don't deserve any sympathy...)
Anybody got any more info on any "Newport" dates?
