I had Roger here in Auckland, New Zealand only last week to do a show for
me. It's the first time I'd met him and seen him perform. Sitting in the
band room for an hour talking to McGuinn with the 12 string Rickenbaker
beside him is a bit like talking with McCartney with the Hohner Bass beside
him. Performance wise he tells his story interspersed with songs. It's all
very gentle and low key and for me anyway everything I hoped it would be. He
alternates between acoustic and electric guitars but always 12 string. The
local press disagreed with my opinion calling him a minor legend and
insinuating that he was boring. But hell, when do the media ever get it
right.
